Well here we are the week before school starts and I have all the schoold supplies purchased, new backpacks, new shoes. I can't believe how fast this summer has gone by. We have been so busy but it's been a good one. I am very excited this week.....I have three sessions scheduled. The one today was a 2 week old little boy....and his 20 month old sister....loved them both...they were both so sweet. It went so well and mom and dad seemed so happy to have found me. I gave them business cards to spread the word. I have a maternity shoot on Saturday that I am really looking forward to...newborns and maternity in the same week...am I dreaming....those are my favorite. You can be so "artsy" with those....I can really express myself artistically with maternity and newborn. This little girl that I had today was just beautiful...she had flaming red hair to die for and the most beautiful blue eyes and the personality of a little princess. I will post some pics soon of her.

As we prepare to start school it dawns on me that it's been ages since I have photographed my own kids...how did that happen. Although I must admit, photographing my kids is so much harder than photographing all of your kids. I think it would be easier to just pay to have their pics taken.....by someone other than myself. They just dread it and I think it's partially because I am not as patient with them and I honestly don't know where my patience goes.....:) My be nice to the customer...just shuts off I guess because they are my kids and they know it. I just want them to do the right thing at the right time and get the perfect picture...you would think they would know that....:) oh well....I should have a little more patience I guess. LOL.

Well, I hope that you all have a wonderful first days of school. And when you need your portraits taken will think of me. I am ready to get very busy and start this business over again. Until next time......

WOW! I can't believe that it has been 3 months since I posted. We are busy getting ready for school to start and it's been a crazy summer. It seems that until recently we have been going non stop. We were off to Colorado as soon as school was out and then camps. Then off to Oklahoma for a visit, then nephews for a week and then here we are. In between all of that it was Six Flags, waterparks, and lots of other fun. It seems like I should have had lots of time to devote to marketing the business but the kids have thought otherwise...and that's okay with me. We have had a great summer and are adjusting to our new home. We have added two new members to our family.......two rats...now before you judge...rats are actually very good pets. I did the research and found that rats are cleaner than cats and they can be trained and rarely bite...unlike hamsters. So please join me in welcoming juju and lucy to the family. Lucy is the friendlier of the two but they both have really great personalities. I so far am the bravest to handle them every day....which is ironic because I was the one who was reluctant to get them.....

Well on another note, hubby and I celebrate 20 years of marriage next week and we have a fun weekend planned to celebrate. I can't imagine life without him.....and can't believe how fast 20 years have gone. We have a fun weekend planned.....we are staying at a quaint little inn, tickets to Hairspray and dinner out. Should be fun.

For those of you in St. Louis...I am ready to start doing HS Seniors or Fall Family Portrait appointments. Call now to book your Fall session. Until next time.....

Finally getting back to it!

It has been a while since I started this blog...and well...it's been a while since I posted. I have had a couple of photo sessions....that's a good thing...hopefully the work will get out very soon. The BIG news this week is that my "baby" has left the single digits behind and turned "10" and it is killing me. Besides that....it's been a CRAZY week. What with field trips and birthday stuff I have been running crazy.

I did have time to work on some pictures that I took last week of a darling little boy. If I can figure out how to post some of them you will be lucky enough to see them. Since I am new at this blogging thing.....well we will see. We are adjusting well to our new hometown and making friends. Since I have joined the Girl Scouts with Sophie, we have made some very good friends. I have my new "circle" of friends here. That is very comforting. I still miss my friends in Oklahoma...some people just stay with you no matter what and I am so thankful to you. You know who you are.....

I am very thankful that my kids have found lots of new friends too. This weekend holds a special place for me, since it is Mother's day. What better job could a person have and I am so thankful to be able to be there for my kids. My little girl couldn't wait until Mom's Day to give me the gift that she made in school and I got it yesterday but the coolest thing is.........for those of you who don't know...we have my in-laws living with us.......and the mothers day card she made in school......she improvised and made the tissue flower for me and the card for her grandma....it said she loved her grandma because she made the best chocolate chip cookies...I only hope that g'ma appreciates it as much as I appreciated her making it for g'ma.

I haven't been too good at this yet but I hope to get better....Until next time.....

Well.....here we go.....my very first BLOG. I hope that you will forgive my misgivings as I am stumbling through this as we speak. What better way to figure it out than to just jump in with both feet. I never really ever saw myself as a blogger but who knows. It may just give me the outlet that I need to ramble. First let me say...thank you for reading this because it means that you have visited my site and for that I am thankful. For a little bit of history, I lived in Oklahoma for the past 18 years.....that is for the 18 years prior to July of 2008. I had my photography business there and everything was good....One day my darling husband came home with the news that we were moving to St. Louis MO because of his job. Well the adventure began and it lead me here. Now this is very much a positive thing because I have been forced to start over and with that kinda have do-overs. I am doing some things differently this time around, first and foremost I have created my new website and I had really been procrastinating getting that done. So the move has motivated me to do some things. It didn't really motivate me fast enough since we have been here for 6 months and I am just now getting around to it.....but it wasn't an easy move at first.

The hard part about this move has been "starting over". Leaving all my established customers behind was difficult at best because not only were they customers, they are my friends. So here I am starting over and ready to go. If you have found your way here by way of my new site, I hope that you will take a few minutes to view my work and perhaps give me the opportunity to photograph you family. By becoming a new customer you will also become a new friend......I look forward to meeting you. :)

We are very much growing to love it here and are enjoying all the fun things that St. Louis has to offer and yes........we have all made some new friends. :) My kids keep me hopping with activities and friends and I stay busy volunteering at their school. So without further ado.....I am going to hit the publish post button now and "voila" will be an official "blogger"....until next time.
